Bahrain Green Sawfish Law
Dateline 5th March 2012.
Less than two years ago the Society made a proposal to the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain for a new law that would protect the critically endangered Green Sawfish in Bahraini waters. SCS have now heard from the Bahrain government that this law has been passed. The Society applauds the Bahrainis for their enlightened attitude to marine conservation and hopes that other Gulf States will follow the lead set by Qatar and Bahrain.
