Shark Bite On Expedition

Dateline 21st July 2013.

12/07/13 from Richard Peirce. "We were in the Azores catching and releasing sharks to tag them, collect DNA for Aberdeen University and record individual details. I have been working with sharks for approaching 30 years and the law of averages says that if you play with fire long enough sooner or later you will get burnt. This is my third shark bite and at 30 stiches was a bit more than a love bite. Nevertheless I was very lucky the teeth bit bone but missed veins, arteries, and tendons, so he was relatively kind to me. Thank you blue shark - go well, hang onto your fins and keep out of the soup".
