The Society is aware of a debate in the Lebanese press over shark fishing activities being conducted from the South Lebanese port of Sidon. SCS does not know enough about the circumstances to be able to comment constructively one way or the other, but is delighted to see a responsible and balanced debate in process, and relieved to note that the number of sharks in question is very small. Any SCS followers wishing to keep abreast of this story will find it covered in the English language Daily Star newspaper.
