Scotland Expedition Update

Dateline: 20th April 2011.

The Society has always had a target date window for this expedition which was end September/early October. A number of factors had to be considered before final dates could be decided. We have now been able to do this and can announce the dates are as follows.

September 15th - RP/JP (advance party) travel to the Western Isles to make preparations for the expedition start.

September 17th - The first day of the expedition so volunteers are asked to travel up on the 16th if they can.

October 1st - The expedition's final day with the whole team travelling back down south on October 2nd.

RP is expecting to go on a recce in the first half of June after which time more details will be available, however volunteers can now use these dates to plan on, and the location of the shore base will almost certainly be North Uist. No further detailed information is available at this stage but towards the end of June we will be sending out information on ferries, general costs, accommodation and expected weather conditions etc. The office is very busy so if volunteers have queries please phone them in rather than e-mail, then they are done and dusted on the spot.
