Scs- Adriatic White Shark Attack October 2008 (due To Text Size Limitations This Report Has To Be Entered In 3 Parts).

Dateline 13-10-08

PART 1

Everything started with phone call from Croatian Alert Center about

alleged shark attack on diver around island of Vis, one of, from coast,

the most distant Croatian islands. Immediately I have contacted few

journalists but at that time they were not notified about it. After few

hours I have started to receive first informations, but unfortunately most

of it were contradictory: from victim suffering minor injuries to death

case, while length of shark varied from 2.5 m to 5 m. In that situation it

was not possible to conclude anything precise as in the Adriatic 28

different shark species were recorded so far, therefore possible shark

involved in this incident ranged from porbeagle, shortfin mako, great

white shark to even blue shark if minor injuries happened. Of course, even

some other species, not recorded in the Adriatic, but present in the

Mediterranean, could not be excluded.
